Merit Profiles is a highly specialized team of trained security and research professionals, providing a full range of pre-employment background screening. We serve corporations and businesses large and small, private enterprise, non-profits – virtually anyone seeking background checks for prospective employees or volunteers.
Our wide-range of services includes criminal court records searches (county and federal), driver’s history, previous employment, education verification, social security number traces and many more.
Merit Profiles is a charter member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS®). Founded in 2003, as a non-profit trade association, NAPBS® serves to represent the interest of companies offering employment and background screening. Merit Profiles operates in full compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
Management Team
William (Bill) Rinehart, President
Bill, a U.S. Navy veteran also served twenty-two years as a lieutenant with the Los Angeles Police Department before entering the private security industry. A decade of management in the private security industry led to the creation of Merit Profiles Background Screening in 1998. Merit Profiles has been based in the central coast area of California since 2007. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and the University of Redlands. Professional affiliations include the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA).
Will Rinehart, Vice-President, Operations & Compliance
Will has been with Merit Profiles since 1998 and manages critical day-to-day operations, along with compliance and legal updates including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). He is an active member of NAPBS and attends professional seminars, reviews industry updates and relevant case law.
Kristyn Spanos, Chief Researcher
Kristyn has over ten years of experience in researching and reporting court records. Her commitment to accuracy and service has created an outstanding reputation for her with Merit Profiles’ client base. She carefully monitors the performance of support researchers to ensure quality and timeliness in reporting. Every organization has a dependable “go-to person”, that’s Kristyn for us.
Kristi Roller, Administrative Manager
Kristi has been with Merit Profiles for more than five years and has extensive experience in managing complex administrative projects. Her administrative and bookkeeping skills keep Merit Profiles organized and running efficiently.
